EARWORM brings its first proceedings to the Hundred Years Gallery of Hoxton, providing a London date for the Irish textural noise titan DRESSING.

Dressing:

The alias of Dublin, Ireland, based artist Kevin Kirwan. Amplified domestic textures, daily fabric pulled taut around unspoken ritual. One thousand restless movements before dawn. With a blistering array of textural broken sound across labels such as Oxen, Abhorrent AD, Satatuhatta, Krim Kram and Dul Amú.

James Shearman & Zheng Hao:

A noise being of Leytonstone, London, who spreads his many tendrils into the various areas and crevices of noise. Shearman lately tends to focus on 'metal on metal' improvisation, with a penchant for feedback worship and movements between asmr-like textural satisfaction and visceral crunch.

Born in Wuhan; based in London. Mainly uses electronics or electro-acoustic instruments for solo and group improvisation – currently focused on exploring the amorphous in different sound spaces.

Following a debut trio for EARWORM AT OTO (06-01-24) with Hao and Shang as Oishi - this will be a debut duo further exploring improvised 'noise vs. noise'.

lu:wn (Lucia H. Chung & Dawn Scarfe):

Lucia H Chung is a Taiwanese artist based in London, United Kingdom. She performs and releases music under the alias ‘en creux’ where the sound creation springs from her fascinations in noise generated through no-input feedback mixing board. The volatile nature of the system and the unpredictable glitch from the excessive energy pouring into the equipment becomes her improvisational and compositional strategy.

Dawn Scarfe is an artist based in London working with field recording, sound installation and performance. Her work explores things that seem to sound themselves such as resonating glasses, aeolian wires and self-opening swell boxes.
